Body Marjorie Bierhaus, 78, of Beardstown {died|passed away} while on hospice care with COVID-19 {complications|problems|issues} on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at Jacksonville {Skilled|Experienced|Competent|Proficient|Knowledgeable} Nursing and {Rehabilitation|Rehab}.
She was born April 16, 1942, in Beardstown, the {daughter|child} of Robert Arthur and Mary Katherine Wagner Korte.
She is {survived|made it through|endured} by her {daughter|child}, Traci Ann Bierhaus ({companion|buddy} Barney Coil) of Beardstown; her granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Knous ({companion|buddy} Drew Sarnecki); {a sister|a sibling|a sis}, Ruth Anne Wankel; her niece, Marcie ({husband|hubby|spouse|other half|partner} Donald) Herter; a nephew, Tom ({wife|spouse|partner|other half|better half} Cathy) Flowers; {six|6} {great-nieces and nephews|nephews and great-nieces}, Sam and Sarah Flowers, Chris and Doug Herter, and Mark and Joe Baumhardt; one great-great-niece, Milania Herter; her {beloved|cherished|precious} {dogs|canines|pet dogs|pets} Harley Darwin, and Raggamuffin; and her “{adopted|embraced}” {daughters|children}, Kim ({husband|hubby|spouse|other half|partner} Jim) Cline Watson, Gena ({husband|hubby|spouse|other half|partner} Jake) Coats, Rita Casey and Jennifer Wedeking.
She was preceded in death by her {parents|moms and dads}, {two|2} {sisters|siblings|sis}, Elizabeth Flowers and Doris K. Stock, and {three|3} brothers-in-law, Charles Flowers, Edwin Stock and Leo Wankel.
Marjorie {attended|went to|participated in} Beardstown High School and {furthered|advanced|enhanced} her education by {attending|going to|participating in} {Business|Company|Service|Organization} School in St. Louis. She {grew up|matured} a farm {girl|woman|lady} and was {thankful|grateful|appreciative|happy|glad} for the life lessons she {learned from|gained from} her {father|dad|daddy}. Early in her married life, she moved with her {husband|hubby|spouse|other half|partner} to Texas while he served in the United States {Air Force|Flying Force}. While there, she was honored to be asked to {model|design} {wedding|wedding event} {gowns|dress} for Seventeen {Magazine|Publication}. She {worked at|operated at} Biederman {Furniture|Furnishings} in Jacksonville, {later|later on} for Bohn Aluminum for {20 years|twenty years} in Beardstown {until|up until|till} they closed, {replenished|renewed} {stores|shops} with Revlon Makeup and {Hallmark|Trademark} Cards, {and then|and after that} for Franklin Life {Insurance|Insurance Coverage} in Springfield. Marjorie was {forever|permanently} grateful for Matthew Watson and his {dog|canine|pet dog|pet} Jackson, for their heroism when she was {involved in|associated with} {a car|a vehicle|an automobile|a cars and truck} {accident|mishap}.
Marjorie {attended|went to|participated in} Bluff Springs Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was {the best|the very best} {storyteller|writer} and {knew|understood} {all about|everything about} her {family|household}’s history and {enjoyed|delighted in|took pleasure in} reading and {watching|viewing|enjoying|seeing} {TV|TELEVISION} with her fur {babies|infants|children}. She was {known|understood} for her {massive|huge|enormous} Christmas {village|town} collection. Marjorie’s {greatest|biggest} {joy|delight|happiness|pleasure} was being {a grandmother|a grandma|a granny} to Lauren and all her {friends|buddies|pals|good friends}. She was {dedicated|devoted|committed} to {watching|viewing|enjoying|seeing} her granddaughter cheer for the BHS Tigers and {spending|investing} Saturday {mornings|early mornings} going to {garage sales|yard sale|yard sales} together. Marjorie {loved|liked|enjoyed} {visiting|going to|checking out} with her {daughter|child}, granddaughter and their {friends|buddies|pals|good friends}, and her {home|house} was {always|constantly} {open to|available to|open up to} them. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Beardstown City Cemetery.
