Lyle was born January 30, 1950 to the late Lyle F. and Mary Ruth Gulley in St. Louis. He {graduated|finished} from {Country|Nation} Day in 1968 and was {lucky|fortunate} {enough|sufficient|adequate} to count his {classmates|schoolmates} as {lifelong|long-lasting} {friends|buddies|pals|good friends}.
