Omar Grant Lehr Feb. 6, 1944-Dec. 30, 2020 BLOOMINGTON-Omar Grant Lehr 76, of Bloomington, {passed away|died} from {heart failure|cardiac arrest} on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
There will be a graveside service with military honors at 1:00 PM Thursday January 7, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. There will be {a private|a personal} {memorial service|funeral} held at Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington. Calvert & & Metzler Memorial {Home|House} in Bloomington is {handling|dealing with|managing} {arrangements|plans}.
Omar was {born on|born upon} February 6, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA to Lyman A. and Elizabeth R. Sherwood Lehr. He {married|wed} Carol Maginnis on September 27, 1969 in Kirkwood, Missouri. She {survives|makes it through|endures}. He is {also|likewise} {survived|made it through|endured} by his {two|2} {children|kids}, Christopher (Lisa) Lehr of Palmyra, PA, and Sarah (Adam) Rosado of Medford, MA, {as well as|in addition to|along with} {three|3} grandchildren, Livia and Marcus Lehr and Jack Rosado.
Omar {earned|made} degrees from the University of Kansas, Art Center College of {Design|Style}, and Danville {Area|Location} {Community|Neighborhood} College. He was Captain in {active duty|active service} {Air Force|Flying force} from 1967-1972. He served in the Illinois Air National Guard from 1984 to 2004, retiring as Senior Master Sargent. In 1986 he {began|started} {a career|a profession} with State Farm {Insurance Company|Insurance Provider|Insurer} in Bloomington retiring in 2012. He was {a model|a design} train {enthusiast|lover} and {loved|liked|enjoyed} to {travel|take a trip} with his {wife|spouse|partner|other half|better half} Carol. He was {very|extremely|really} {proud|happy} to still own his {very|extremely|really} first {car|vehicle|automobile|cars and truck}, a 1967 Plymouth Baracuda.
Omar {learned|discovered|found out} to {{love|like|enjoy} and {trust|rely on}|{trust|rely on} and {love|like|enjoy}} God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. His life was made {great|fantastic|terrific|excellent} through them. He {was a member of|belonged to} Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington and served on the church {missions|objectives} committee.
